Pench India Tour

Just as housing rich cultural diversity, enchanting natural splendor, and different such aspects it is also rich in its varied variety of flora and fauna. In India a lot of care is taken to preserves its exotic wildlife in the form of wildlife reserves, national parks, etc. and one of such equivalent place is Pench national park which has been situated at the base of Satpuda hills at the border of Madhya Pradesh and at the brim of Maharashtra.

pench Tour Indira Priyadarshini Pench National Park which is the full name of this national park is also known as the Mowgli Pench Sanctuary as the place has served as the original setting of Rudyard Kipling's most famous work, The Jungle Book. The national park has been derived its name from the rushing Pench river that flows through this park and serves as the dominant water source for the wildlife that inhabits here. The park stretches itself through an area of 758 sq km out of which 299 sq km serves as the core zone of the park. Serving as the 19th tiger reserve in the country Pench national park acknowledged officially the status of "Tiger Reserve of India" in February 1999 and was entitled as a National Park in 1975 by the Government of Maharashtra. This exclusive national park provides a fine blend of dry deciduous forest and moist tropical deciduous forest with a variety of diverse beautiful shrubs and climbers. It even comprises a wide variety of shady trees like Mahua, Tendu, Bija, Amaltas and Palash and some peers of teak such as garari, aonla, ghont, baranga, amaltas, kihamali, khair, palas etc. adding on to the thick green canopy of the forest, with such a diverse variety of fauna the place is favorite among the herbivores. Some of the water bodies are fringed and creased with groups of bamboo grass.

Pench National Park houses a myriad of endangered species of wild animals and exotic birds. Besides the tiger population, one can spot leopards, wolf, jungle cat, Indian wild dog, wild boar, hyena, various species of deer as well as langurs who inhabits in this park harmoniously. This exclusive national park serves as ideal destination to endure the beauty of birds, to observe their expressions, watch them flying etc as over 300 species of birds flies over this national park with some migratory birds as well. The national park comprises 50 species of fishes, 10 amphibians, 30 reptiles, 45 butterflies, 54 moths and a myriad other insects with some endangered species like Cheetal, Sambar, nilgai .
