Bharatpur

Rajasthan is known for its royal destinations comprising rich cultural heritage but Bharatpur widely recognized as the Eastern Gateway to Rajasthan unlike other state does not comprise royally rich cultural heritage but is known for being a home to India's exotic wild life. Set at a distance of 55km from Agra welcomes its visitors from all over the world throughout the year. It is widely believed that the name of this place has acquired its name from Lord Rama's brother and has a mythical connection with the epic of Ramayana and Mahabharata. Bharatpur established in 1733AD by Maharaja Suraj Mal is fringed with Gurgaon district of Haryana, Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh and Agra on north, east and southern side respectively.

bharatpur Tour Once been an impregnable fortified city of the Mewat region Bharatpur is globally renowned for its wildlife bird sanctuary. Primarily this place was a gloomy natural area which was flooded because of the construction of the Ajan Bund build in between 1726 to 1763 by the then ruler of this princely state Maharaja Suraj Mal. After which the park became the hunting ground of the maharajas of Bharatpur and now it has transformed itself from a deserted natural forest to a world heritage site declared by UNESCO.

Even though Bharatpur doesn't comprise the splendor of architectural brilliance yet it accommodates soul captivating beauty of its flora and fauna which allures visitors all around the world. The widely recognized bird sanctuary- the Keoladeo Ghana National park is set between the majestic cities of India- Agra and Jaipur. The name Keoladeo is acquired from the ancient Hindu temple devoted to lord Shiva which this park shelters, and the word Ghana implies dense and thick forest cover in Hindi language. This world famous bird sanctuary is stretched of 29sq km and is a residing place of about 350 species of birds and around 35 species of butterflies. Siberian cranes, storks, spoon bills, white ibis, Cormorant, Darters, Herons, Egrets, geese, ducks, pelicans, flamingos, eagles, vultures, owls, and kingfishers comes under the main attractions which his sanctuary offers proving it to be a paradise for bird lovers. The place is famous for its Siberian crane because other than Siberia it's the only place where you can spot a Siberian crane. Jackal, Hyena, Flying fox, Porcupine, Blue bull, Sambar, Mongoose and Red faced monkey are some significant animal species of the park. A myriad of migratory birds from Europe and central Asia also visit this place during their respective seasons usually winter.

However Bharatpur is not confined to this national park it has a lot more to offer to its visitors. The Lohagarh Fort residence of the Jat chieftain, Jawahar Burj, the Begam Smaru, Purana Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, Raja Surajmal and Fateh Burj are some of the dominant attractions which this place shelters in it. This fascinating city is rich in some exquisitely built forts and temples like Ganga Temple, Laxman Temple and Banke Bihari Temple, museums, shimmering lakes which can be seen in the national park itself.
